Proud to be part of a great organization like VNARP, the Vietnamese National Association of Real Estate Professionals. Last year in 2017, it was the history in the making with our first trade mission to Vietnam, led by former Mayor of City of San Jose, Mr. Ron Gonzales. As a Vietnamese descent, I’m proud and passionate about Vietnam and it’s always great to be back. There are familiarities; yet so many un-familiarities as Vietnam constantly changing daily. So there was so much to learn from each other, a completely value-added mission. Most important is the Upside & potential for Establishing the relationship for building opportunity, trade and direct foreign investment. We feel it is significant as both US and Vietnam has a long history. We had a wonderful experience last year on trade mission, the hospitality from the Chairman of Ha Noi/Da Nang/HCMC People’s Committee, the organization VNREA, the chamber of commerce and the business community of each city in VN.
We had to opportunity to visit a number of Vietnamese developments – some small and some massive scale, to see the metamorphosis (transformation/conversion) of Saigon, emerging of high tech company at the Saigon Silicon City, established a foothold in Vietnam. It was pretty amazing. For us, it opened our eyes up in ways we hadn’t even imagined. We knew potential existed but we did not realize the depth of it. We took along …. UC to hopefully establish cultural, healthcare and education tie which already in the works. That is another opportunity along with the travel side of the equation, to really start to build those bridges between the two countries.
On the U.S. side, we are developing and embracing the strong relationships with the Consulate General from Vietnam in SF, who we collaborated on several events together . Since the trade mission, we also hosted several delegations from Vietnam to San Jose and SF, it was the quickest where the inbound mission was replicated as our friends from VN decide to come over to visit us. They were interacting with the Economic developments, touring developments, education and college campuses, and all the high tech companies in Silicon Valley. An additional partnership and relationship with individuals from different part of the world.
Building an impactful real estate organization for the Vietnamese communities worldwide brings more than its fair share of triumphs and challenges. You might even say that we’re only a couple years in, but we’ve packed several lifetime of experiences into creating history – there’s literally that much going on at a given time. That kind of experiences have developed us into a better human being and taught us to appreciate each year for its success and challenges. This year was particularly an accomplishment, a history in the making, as we embarked together on our aspirations to build a better tomorrow within our communities and abroad.
